Clearly a track that should favour the Mercs but it will be interesting to see how far the others have progressed.

New turbo on the Ferraris and Vettel put good use of it. Being less than .2 sec from the pole sitting Mercedes on a power track like Montreal is very encouraging!!!

Going to be a very interesting race.
- RB more on the pace despite probably still being down on HP
- Ferrari very close to MB qualifying pace, where they held the biggest advantage
- Weather
A few things of questions to be answered tomorrow and the upcoming weeks:
- Lewis was pretty slow down the straights. Is this a byproduct of cranking enormous amounts of downforce on to the car to heat the tires more quickly?
- Is he on a wet weather setup?
- Or is it time for MB to use some engine update tokens as the HP wars are escalating?
Forza Maranello!

Btw...watching qualy in Hawaii on NBC. Is this the standard coverage and commentary you guys watch? It's crap compared to the British BBC version if you can find that somewhere.

Sky Sports has the best English language F1 coverage. Unfortunately I have no choice this race, I have to watch the NBC feed if I want to watch the race live.

I don't know how Hamster keeps getting away with this crap without getting a penalty. He practically drives RIC into the wall at Monaco and pushed Nico off at turn 1 today. Under steer my ***. He did the same maneuver last year at COTA. You can't race him.
Well at least Seb got second. Things are looking promising for Ferrari.
Where are the Verstappen doubters now? He beat RIC on the track without any excuses of bad strategy. His defending of Nico was nicely done. Do you still think he belongs back in the junior team?
Nice job Valtieri. He just loves Canada!
Well at least we didn't have to see Bieber in victory lane this time. My stomach wouldn't be able to take it.

Vettel had the pace of the Mercs today and could have won, but Ferrari pitted him too early and after the race Arrivabene admitted they make an error in pit strategy.
Nico had a lot of problems. He asked his pit for info because code lights were going off on his streering wheel. He also got out of the draft several times, I think he was trying to cool off his brakes in clean air. Finally, reports after the race revealed Nico was saving fuel at the end.
Nice defending by Max. Youth has no fear and gives no ****s. Don't know why Ricciardo didn't show better.
Drive of the day to Carlos Sainz Jr. in the Toro Rosso as he drove from 20th to 9th with no crashes on track or safety car (virtual safety car just freezes field, doesn't bunch them up).
Nico will never win a WDC if you are not willing to bang wheels when a teammate is squeezing you and not giving you racing room. If Nico takes both out, he's still up for 24 points. Now it's only 9 pt difference. It's over

Didn't see the race but the NBC coverage is amateur compared to the BBC UK. Maybe that's the same as Sky sports. Damon Hill, Martin Brundle etc...Way more in tune and informative.
