Just a friendly reminder that the registration for the 2016 version of the Clash opens on Monday April 18 at 10 PM EDT via clubregistration.net. The track has been repaved and sports new FIA curbing. I promise you that it will be very fast.

Can't wait and hope we have better weather this year. Not fun to do half the enduro sitting on pit lane hoping the fog rolls out.
Wonder how tire life will be after the repave.

The first year Thomson would destroy my tires and I know most others had the same experience. Last year, after the pavement had a year to get polished, it was better.
Palmer. while not as bad as Palmer, was also a little aggressive on tires.
As a new track surface I was expected WGI to be the same.
Thoughts?

If the pack and mix is good, which I have every reason to believe it is, the new Glen surface will not be as abrasive to tires as the old asphalt/concrete mix.
I've had experience with both new (CMP/VIR/NJMP) and repaved old courses (Road Atlanta x2, Lime Rock x2, Roebling Road, Summit x4, Daytona, Mid-Ohio, portions of Road America) and generally these larger tracks (more so than smaller venues) do a nice job. I believe the new Glen surface will be faster, easier on tires and wear better than the old one, by far.
