Default Ian Prout of SCDA passed away

Ian Prout passed away. He was the President of SCDA, a major Northeast DE outfit with a focus on LRP. I only ran with SCDA twice quite some time ago. I remember it being a family run organization with an extremely welcoming tone. I know that SCDA is still a very popular group in these parts no doubt due to the enthusiast family behind the events.

RIP.

From the www.scda1.com site:

Dear SCDA Family,

It is with immensely deep and heavy hearts that we share with you the loss of our beloved friend and SCDA President and owner, Ian Prout. Ian will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and SCDA family. Ian was one of the most loving and caring people in the world; he left a lasting positive impression on all who were fortunate to know him.

We have set up a special email address ( IanProutMemorial@gmail.com ) for anyone who would like to share their memories of this remarkable man with his family. This will help them in this very difficult time. Details of a memorial service will be shared here soon.

While we cope with this tragic event, Elivan Goulart with the support of Ian’s family and friends will continue the tradition of his love for high performance driving events that Ian has built over the last two decades. Events are currently planned to run according to 2016 schedule.

Really terrible news. I knew Ian & Co. before I got into DE, ran my first ever event with SCDA, and have always enjoyed their LRP events. Major loss in the NE DE scene. He will be missed by many.

Holy ****. Unbelievable. I've known Ian for many years. Would instruct with him and SCDA a couple times a year. Great guy, great driver. He will be missed.

Stunned. Ian was a young and reputable guy.
No mentions anywhere of how this happened.
Condolences to all. Very sad.

Omg. So sorry and prayers to his family. Ian was a remarkable (young) man, and truly committed to the craft we all love so much. R.I.P.

I can't believe it. Been running with SCDA at the Glen the last couple of years and really enjoyed it. Didn't know him well but he, his wife, and Elivan were always very accessible and helpful. RIP.

Stunning loss. I heard the news on facebook last night and was speechless. Such a nice guy, and a great talent. Condolences to Ian's family and to his SCDA partner Elivan.

I am shocked. I always looked forward to visiting LRP because I knew Ian would be there to share some knowledge. He will be missed.

RIP Ian

This came as a shock, though I hadn't been to an SCDA event in years.
Ian, his Dad, and the entire family gave the racing and DE community so much.
My older son attended their teen age driver program, and I was grateful they offered it. All newer drivers should attend.
RIP and condolences to his loved ones.
