Default Pagid yellow and PF08

993 NB, stock weight, some zoomy bits, instructor DE.

I use pagid RS29 and like them fine. Rennstore is suggesting PErf Friction 08.

Any comparisons, thoughts?

Oh boy, here we go. This is a regularly debated topic.

I used Pagid Blacks and Yellows for years. But I always had a horrible time properly bedding them in, and therefore had issues with pad deposits on the rotors. I finally gave up.

I switched to PFC 08 and I've never looked back. However, you have to optimize your cooling because they do transfer more heat into the caliper and fluid. Also my 08s last forever and I've never had a problem with them being "hard on rotors." Quite the opposite actually.

I just switched from Pagid yellows/blacks to PFC 08s. I've done two events and I like them fine. They bedded easily, are relatively quiet and stop just fine - just a little softer initial bite, but not a problem at all (and easier to modulate). So far, so good (though they're pretty dusty) on light braking tracks (Big Willow Springs). But have Auto Club Speedway and Laguna Seca coming up....so we'll see.....

About 5 years ago I switched from Pagid Yellows to PFC97's and said I would never go back to Pagid - absolutely loved the 97's. Two to three years ago the 97's were replaced by the 08's. I like the 08's, but they are not the pads I fell in love with. On top of that, now there are rumors Performance Friction is having quality control issues especially on the 08 compound (I personally have not experienced an issue but have heard from those that have). So, now I am considering a switch. I have ordered Ferodo pads and will give them a try. If I do not like them I will likely switch back to Pagid Yellows.

My advice, give the PFC's a try. Not having to bed is definitely a huge bonus - put them on and just run the crap out of them right out of the box and to the backing plate. Good luck.

The 11 is what might be called a sprint pad while the 08 is more of an endurance pad.

Used to use the Pagid yellows and went to the PFC 08's and love them. Decent bite, very easy to modulate and good to the backers. I did have the pads delaminate 2 years ago but never had a problem since (did add more cooling after that as well......). BTW, APEX jumped on the problem and took care of the situation pronto. Thanks Clark. The PFC prices went up big time late last year so when I use up my sets of 08's, I will try out the Ferodo's. I hope they work out as well as the 08's.

I am a huge fan of PFC pads but they have gotten ridiculously proud of them price wise. The benefit is they can be run to the backing plate with no deterioration of performance, whereas Pagid are getting useless at 50% wear ...
