Default Kartpocalypse - 7 kart pile-up on wet track in Buenos Aires

Surprisingly nobody was seriously hurt.

The art of kartpocalypse in the rain in terrifying video
What happens when you throw a little rain on a kart track? A seven-kart pileup ensues.

Kart racers in Buenos Aires had a hell of a scare recently when a quick rain shower dumped water on the Zarate Circuit. Calamity ensued, shooting racers off the course, across the grass and into a tire barrier. A total of seven karts were involved in an impressive pileup at high velocity.

Despite some pretty meaty collisions, no one was seriously injured in the dustup. That's all the more impressive when you watch the video. There's fire. There's flying body work. There are karts on spin cycle. It's a full-blown kartpocalypse.

Jeez, lucky no one was seriously hurt.

I have to say though, they didn't seem to be paying much attention to the waving yellow flag.

They don't have red or black flags there? I'm thinking once drivers leave the kart or first responders appear should merit a red. Wow.

Crap once a driver leave a kart?....I'd get outta that thing as fast as I could....dont exactly have any impact protection.....that one guy would been chopped in half had he stayed in

Amazing how the tire bariers were barely bumps and didn't keep all the karts in the track

Looks like it was oil down

I think the key thing to learn from this is that if you are going to get out of the kart, run away as fast as you can....

I've experienced similar scenarios in my karting days...and that grass is no different than driving on an ice rink...Whether or not they were properly acknowledging the local yellow, it's tough to keep the kart on the tarmac in those conditions

Maybe it's just me, but the karts sounded like they were still going full blast for a while after I could see the yellow flag started waving in the background. Maybe it somehow wasn't visible to them?
