Monticello Club Race
Started booking hotels for the balance of my 2016 DE and Club Race schedule. I'll be doing the Monticello Club Race for the first time and The Sullivan Hotel is already booked on Friday and Saturday. Apparently it is a big parents' weekend at the local kid camps.
I thought I was being proactive and organized by booking now. I stand corrected.

The Marriott In Middletown is nice, has Starbucks, local dining options including Buffalo Wild Wings, and is only a 30 minute drive to MMC.
The Holiday Inn would be second choice. The Microtel has the thinnest walls anywhere. Bad. There's another hotel right next to the Marriott but I forget it's name.
I sometimes stay at the Marriott and sometimes Sullivan.

ooh sorry to hear about the Sullivan. Monticello might be the most depressed town I've ever seen north of Mason Dixon line. Makes Millville NJ look like Greenwich CT.

If you're so inclined, check out Airbnb.com; you might be surprised at what you find. Enjoy!

Where were you for this piece of advice last year?!
If you look at the picture online for this place it looks like a resort. Its not.
I wound up driving my family home after the first night as they refused to stay at this place. Last year's race was early spring and they could not go outside for a moment without being attacked by flies, flies and more flies!
The Sullivan is the best cheapest place but gets booked up frequently as was the case here. Stayed there many times.

The Sullivan is the best choice and you need to book as soon as the dates are announced.
