Default Nitto unavailable, need turbo track-only recommendation

I like the Nitto nt01 for it's consistency, long life, and grip, but it is not available in 19 325 30. I tried cup 2's but they are not as grippy and don't last very long (4 weekends before falling off considerably). Any recommendations out there for a track-only option? How long do Hoosiers typically last?

Depends on how much money you have....

Curious to hear if anyone has experience with the Trofeo R. They come in your size.

Hi Mike, I hear the Trofeos don't last very long either, similar to the Cup 2's, but I'd also like to hear from someone who has used them.

BTW, the 996 spec link you shared goes to a page not found. I'm interested to learn more!

Is switching to an 18" wheel an option? Could always move sizes, and stock up on 18" NT01's....

Re-11's, Advan AD08's, etc are street tires with less grip than an r-comp from what I understand. I have not been happy with the grip from my Cup 2's, which I understand are in the same class. I think the Trofeo R's, as an example, are much closer to an R-compound tire. They're expensive and I'm not sure what their longevity is like, but seems like they may be the only option in my size except fro Hoosiers.

I'd rather not spring for a third set of wheels at this point. Wish I had planned better before getting the 19" champions I have now for track. Guess I am surprised there is nothing close to the Nittos combining grip, longevity, value, and in the size I need!

No need for 3 sets of wheels, just sell your 19" Champion wheels and buy a set of turbo twist for cheap. You may have enough money left over to pay for your new set of NT01's!

I know you pain on tire selection, as I have ZERO options outside of AD08R's for my stock 996tt. If I could haul a second set of wheels/tires, the NT-01's would already be in my garage, but cant DD them in the cold rainy weather we get in spring/fall.

I need a 325, 305 is too much of a stretch (and those seem hard to find too).

What do you all think of the toyo r888? I've heard mixed reviews over the years but it seems to be most comparable to the Nitto.

I know people who like R888s. But I've run them back to back, and I find no real comparison - NT01s are so much better.

My experience has been that the R888's turn to rocks after not many heat cycles, while the NT01's are drivable pretty much down to the cord.

R888 suck. how wide a wheel are you running in the back? I run a 12" and the 305 looks/fits FINE.

I run NT01 245/305 in 18" and this is a great track setup. Step up would be R7.

Interesting, 305 fits a 12" wheel? I'll look into that. If that doesn't work out sounds like R7's for me!

What's the best source for Nittos these days? I'm in Austin TX.

Discount Tire Direct for sure, buy all mine there.

See the pic of my RS? That's NT01, 305 on a 12" wide 18" wheel.
