Opinion of Speed SF?
Hi,
I've done a few HPDE events with the Audi and Porsche clubs in the Bay Area and they've been great. However, I'm looking for options for more track time and Speed SF has an event coming up at Thunderhill later this month.
I'm not familiar with them and I can't find references to them here on RL. Does anyone have experience with one of their events?
Thanks.

Don't know this group....
But do know Northern California Racing Club. Have run quite a few events with them, Thunderhill, Laguna Seca and Buttonwillow. In my opinion they run a good event, well organized and affordable.

I have heard questionable things about Speed SF. Mainly that you get a bunch of kids in modded Hondas with questionable track etiquette.Maybe because it's so cheap? Try NCRC The bottom run group is a little hairy but if you have any track experience you should be fine in the second group. They run lots of days at Laguna Seca and a few at Thunderhill.
There's also TrackMasters but I don't like how they have you sign a waiver accepting responsibility for someone else's car.

Here is what NCRC is doing in 2016

The really run thing to me is running against other Marques, such as Mitsubishi EVO, BMW cars, Mustangs, Cameros....

Don't tell me you haven't felt your car superior in early every way, pound for pound. Running competitively with and against other cars on the track is the way to confirm the superiority of your Porsche car. I battled about 10 laps with a Mitsubishi Evo, AWD, prepared for the track, sedan. It is a Turbo car, only 2.0 liters. I was ahead of him and he couldn't close the distance. My car is start legal too...pretty sure his car was too. Dusted off a pair of the 2016 Mustangs...not that was fun. Of course the drivers were pretty inexperienced...I loved it, like crushing bugs!

This is distressing to hear. I hope that you mentioned this fact to Luc and Dave. And I mean in detail to include car numbers. I ran Open Passing with them at Laguna Seca this past December. I was a good experience....I have run Buttonwillow with them too, Open Passing. Good times were had.
