Default 911 SC Race Class?

What would an 83 911 SC race car be classed under and which sanctioning body would be best to race in? (PCA or other)

If the car has little modifications, In PCA it would be classed in stock D. If you live on the west coat there are other options.

D is a dead class, almost no one left in it.
E is a huge class. Lots of cars, especially at the big PCA races (WGI, Sebring, Road America).
I converted my 78-83 911SC "D" to "E" by changing pistons (compression) and intake (pressure) to the Euro version to make my car an 81-83 911SC (Euro) as per "E" rules.

Unless i'm mistaken just tossing in high compression pistons and changing intake pressure does not make a legal E car? A bump steer kit pushes a D car to Modified E, how can you semi-modify the engine and it be legal? I was told by Walt it had to be a FULL Euro conversion including Dizzy, FD, pistons, etc. etc... that change?

I have a euro 1981SC in basically stock configuration. It is D class PCA car.
I want to convert it to a E class.

As GT3DE pointed out, E class is where you want to be.

Yes, yes, yes. I was being brief. Maybe too simple. My engine had full conversion, all the right stuff.
Chasing Evan with his 3.2, wishing I swapped to 3.2.

Me, I wished I had thrown on a bump steer kit and a set of 3 way adjustable shocks and tossed an E sticker on my 78... Going to 3.2 means building your car into a 84-86 Carerra, a LOT more was entailed than just upgrading the engine (even gearing had to be changed!).

What real effect does a bump steer kit make? The faster E cars aren't any faster in the corners now. I can't keep up on the straights. Would a bump steer kit allow one to build enough of a gap in a corner(s) to hold the place on a long straight.

Convert the engine to euro specs to get into E class. Lots of competition in E class. You also need to check the gearing to make sure you have the euro gears. highly recommend you find a good race shop to lead you in the right direction.
