Northeast Region 3 day early July during the Tremblant Blues Festival. Not to be missed (I only missed once since 1999 and that was for a poorly scheduled family wedding).

That event is just before the Legends (historic racing) event. Some folks even stay a few days to watch that because of the incredible cars that come...

The GTO looks like Lawrence's.......brings to mind a totally off-topic story, but years ago I participated in a PCA DE and we were told that he would be on track with us and that if he appeared in your mirrors, POINT HIM BY! Sure enough, there he was behind me.....it was a pleasure to point him by and hear the sound of that thing!

For CTMP: 6th Gear (advanced only), DriveTeq and Apex Performance Driving. I forgot BMW Trillium for weekends.

Be careful, this track will eat cars that make a mistake at speed.

DriveTeq also offers a three track package that includes Mosport, Callabogie and Tremblant with accommodation and track support if you're looking to dive right in.

I wish. I was lucky to do dozens of laps on a quad and 80cc dirt bike when we were running Formula BMW. Full-tilt laps until sundown. An amazing circuit. I think it only opens for F1 and support races. Then closed for the rest of the year.

I would make the trip from Long Island at least once a year if they held an event for mere mortals.

Funny how that circuit (Gilles Villenueve) is considered as one of the better F1 circuits today, because I distinctly recall Rob Walker commenting in one of his Road and Track reports that the circuit was "definitely Mickey Mouse" at the time.

Seeing the title of this thread immediately called to mind Bridgehampton.

Long gone, and I never had a chance to drive it. But I've heard you either loved it or hated it. Peter K, did you ever drive it?

Sorry for the tangent... Now back to the original topic of active tracks.

The Bridge was the place, as far as a driver's track goes. Only Mosport or Road America compare, which, not coincidentally, were constructed at the same time. Tremendous elevation and off cambers but most importantly; rhythm and flow with very high speed corners, like many older circuits, not that demanding on brakes. Gorgeous setting, up high on a hill overlooking Peconic Bay, always a cool ocean breeze blowing. Only problem was, if you weren't in the car, it was a pretty rough place. Fantastic vantage points for great spectating all around, but if you wanted to take a leak it was in the bushes. And if you were hungry, well, I hope you brought something. No amenities at all. Lastly, it was way out on eastern Long Island, and the weekend traffic was challenging. Nevertheless, so many of us would give anything to have it back.
