X-zachery. ("I know this guy....")

As long as you don't zing it to the moon, do something stupid in shop or pits, or stuff the car backwards hard enough to bust motor pieces, HPD covers it. IMO, brilliant, actually.

I saw the car at PRI. My brother is considering one as he has run open wheel cars for a lot of years. Looks like a lot of bang for the buck.

See this for KTM's program (these are highly tuned, so more expensive): http://motocross.transworld.net/feat...iv0E3Tf0Kwe.97

People like to know what it's going to cost...
Thanks for the info link!

It's a hell of a deal. Scott Goodyear announced his team of two cars, today.

How did they get the price of the car down to 45K plus the engine lease? It was listed at 125K or so at one time.

Seems like a really good value.

It's a really great deal. That F4 car looks like pure sex and for $100k (annual costs) you get a shot at becoming a F4 Champion which is just one digit diff from a F1 Champion. It's also a screaming deal compared to running a Cup in PCA Club racing or compared to the entry cost of $200k+ for a GT4 Clubsport and that doesn't even include operational costs. I'm puzzled by how this thing is not oversubscribed many times over. I must be missing something.

I'd have to double check, but the whole premise of F4 is cost control. I'm pretty sure the cars where always around this price.

It's been a bit of a weird roll out with 3 different groups saying they were going to do F4 in the US, then SCCA ended up throwing their muscle around. Prices look great, but the performance is yet to be determined. I think it looks great, offers good performance, and offers a great value. The challenge I see is that there are a bunch of competing classes for a middle ground open wheel car.

I could be wrong but I thought the car was originally VW powered, then switched to Honda and just recently became an F4 car which does indeed have a cost cap per FIA. I'm just wondering how Crawford can reduce the price so much when a new Formula Ford is 90K.
