I'm the opposite. I race a 997.2 911T but have a C7Z for the street. I find the folks on the Corvette forum to be less educated/intelligent. Many can't be objective as they are so brand focused. I'm wondering if this will change as the Corvette "legacy" buyers pass/move on.

It's humorous to read the hell I've caught for pointing out flaws with the C7Z. I love the car but it, like any car, is not without issues. People really get on me when I state the Z06 is in fact a ZR1 in disguise. A Z06 should not have:

- removable roof;

- forced induction;

- automatic transmission due to the heat issues when tracked - FWIW, I have no overheating issues tracking my M7 car;

- forced induction rather than naturally aspirated;

- available as a convertible;

- M7 instead of M6.

GM made the Z06 as a ZR1 to tap into the legacy market. These are the guys who bought Grand Sport C6's as they wanted the Z06 look but couldn't drive one as you couldn't get an automatic. These folks are the waxers who don't care about the additional performance/power provided with the Z06 as the typically drive from the house to a local parking lot car show and set up lawn chairs. They can't drive a manual as their knees no longer work.

It's humor! We all need to lighten up.

Corvette owners are having midlife crises. - Somehow I avoided that!
Porsche owners are ******. - Didn't avoid that!
Ferrari owners are d-bags. - Yep, got me again!
Prius owners are mainly transvestites. - Phew..

Well maybe that last one is true.

Let's not get our panties in a bunch! Learn to laugh with other people and at yourself.

As someone not living in the US would it be unreasonable of me to assume that a higher % of Corvette guys would be gun owners compared to Porsche guys? Or is that just me being a *****.

This. I can tell you that fitting my rifles in a Porsche was not easy, I doubt it's much easier in a vette.

Agreed, although my 9mm Sig has no problems finding a space in my 911....

If my theory that Porsche owners are more intelligent is accurate then logic dictates Porsche owners will be more likely to own gun(s).....

....and of course the guns will be much more precise, well built, better engineered, more exclusive and grossly overpriced.

I was talking only about the race section there where there are many fast experience drivers. That's hard to argue. That second picture looks like a GP garage at miller, what did you run track and lap time?

It is Miller. I ran the PCA/POC race there in 2013. It was the first track I ever drove other than my home track of Hallett AND my first (i.e., rookie) race. We ran the full course and I did a 3:04.5.

Got a little interesting when my right rear tire exploded/blew out going down the front straight at 162.4 mph.

GT3R fenders on the front. The rears are OEM that have been modified/cut with GT3R flares added. Couldn't go with the GT3R fenders in the rear as they don't have intakes for the intercoolers.
