Just remember, there's nothing stock about a stock car......

Why wouldn't the class use non-S Caymans and combine SPB and SPC and just balance it out with weight?

One of my concerns for SPC is the use of stock front brakes. In my opinion Caymans really need a big brake kit up front to be safe in race conditions. That adds cost so I doubt it is going to be allowed.

Sorry but I had to laugh at this. I didn't realize that after 5 years of racing an early 911, I moved to a starter class for racers. I guess I'm not too bright since 10 years later I'm still racing in it. I'll have to do something about that next year.

I have to agree with this. Not everyone wants to move up in classes until we reach a cup car.

I'm not looking to spend the extra money to get into GTB but if SPC kills H and I then I will have no choice.

I guess I am not a wanderer then, but instead would like it all to be accumulative.once I master it at one level I want to step up to the same but more. What happens for those of us who do want to step up to something else? Before SPC I had to go to a cup car to race in a spec class.

You don't need bigger brakes on a Cayman, you need to use the brake less. SPB's have tiny brakes on them and I have never run out of brake.

I will say it again, spec racing is the future of PCA club racing.

I certainly think the spec classes are great for cost containment.

944 on the cheap
SPB for the <$40k crowd
SPC for the <$70 crowd with a lot more speed

I'm sure the Boxster brakes aren't super fantastic but have ya'll seen the brake pads for an E class 911? It's pretty funny. They might as well be go-cart brakes.

I like big brakes and I cannot lie
You other drivers can't deny
That when a car dives in with itty bitty pads
And a tight apex in your race
You get spun

I don't see how your big brakes would help you with that.

So what is the essential difference between I class Cayman and a SPC?
