cross post: For Sale - 993 GT2/RSR Shocks + Spares
993 GT2/RSR Shocks + Spares (2 rears and 4 fronts).
Part numbers:
993.343.509.81
993.343.510.81
993.333.051.81
993.333.051.81
I bought these from the original owner who ran them on his ALMS RSR back in the day. I subsequently sent one set of front and rears to Bilstien to be rebuilt and revalved for 800/1000lb springs. Then In 2012 I sent the other fronts and rears back to be re-valved with a more current (Digressive??) valve stack and have driven very little since then.
Full Disclosure:
As you can see in the pics the finish is rough.
The threads on all bodies are beat up, turning collars and especially the drop link mounts is difficult (but still functional)
The adjuster and threads on one of the front spares got damaged in storage and will need some attention (see pic).
I modified 2 of the front bushings (milled off the built in nut, and added a dowel pin) so they will fit a stock wheel carrier (vs the RS carrier on the RSR). There are two that are still original, you can see the difference in the pics.
If I’m perfectly honest, I have my doubts about the work the Bilstein has done. If I were to running these competitively again, I would send them to an independent shop and have their worked checked. I now have a shop here in Charlotte that I can recommend if needed.
