Cayman gt4 classing

It's a good question. I asked Walt about it at the Glen earlier this season. The answer is 'maybe in the GT classes'. Bottom line is that I don't think PCA knows what to do with it... yet.
Right now it looks like most of these cars will go to PWC or Conti. Not sure how many will be available to us for club racing, although we'll likely see a few at some events in prep/testing for pro racing.
PMNA is still remaining rather silent (per email just 2 days ago) about spec of the car re. stick or paddle shift.

The Street GT4 fits well in the stock classes, if a faster GT3RS can run in L. Looks like they are considering K class. No need to go to a GT class.
The GT4 cup would be in a new GTC class I'd think.

I was specifically thinking about the street car version and corresponding "stock" class.
I wasn't aware that there is a "cup" variant of the same car. Do I understand that correctly to be the case? If so, very cool. I ASSumed that the Conti/PWC teams were going to mod the street gt4 car as has been done in the past.

I am more interested in the proposed Spec Cayman Class. I understand they are going to allow a mechanical diff and will be on JRZ's. Hope its got a sticky tire under it and it will be a fast little class.

Isn't there already a Spec Cayman class? It's called GTB 1

Details are still thin and closely held but $150k+\- and first of the year delivery. Call John at BGB Motorsports for more details on getting a car. There won't be many of them and they likely will carry usually PMNA obligations.
