997 or 991?......
Looking for a fun, driver inspired/engaging, fair weather DD and am torn between 997 and 991 Carrera S model. Both would be fresh used examples with low miles (less than 15,000).
It would be 95% DD, with maybe one or two DE/year when I don't feel like towing the race car to the track.
I know the size is different, the steering feel is also different and so is the price...... what else should I know before I make a final decision?
As per usual, thank you for any advice.......

997 or 991?......
Typical advice on RL is to get the newest car you can afford. I love my 997.2S, but if I could have justified paying 30K or so for a 991, would have done so...T

In March, I traded by DD 2006 997s (MT) for a 991s (PDK). I thought I'd miss the MT, but once you drive the PDK you will be convinced. It is a superior car in every way. With the Sport setting for around town and the Sport Plus for occasional DEs, it is just a terrific car.
Either way, you won't be disappointed. Good luck!

I would do a 991 ALL DAY LONG for that purpose. Especially if you're considering PDK. The software updates in the 991 alone are worth it and preowned S models aren't terribly pricey if you find a decent 2012 model.

Based on what you have described; DD with one or two track adventures per year, and PDK, I think the 991 is best for you. Personally I would prefer a 997.2, but your preferences seem to point to the newer car.

I've owned both and would take the 997.2. To me, the 991 was more like a nice Mercedes than a sports car. The only 991 I would own is now in the garage.
Drive both - only you can decide which is right for you.
