Default Aim Smartycam question

Does anyone know if a standard 3.5 mm external mic is the appropriate plug?

I've been screwing around w/ my Gopro and Smartycam and haven't had much success?

Wasn't getting sounds from either and finally figured out that the cheap, Chinese knockoffs sold on Ebay for Gopro's external mic attachment wasn't working. Just went to Best Buy and bought one. Couldn't believe how clear the sound came through from all differnt mic's.

Now, I'm working on the Smartycam (have external mic splitter that runs to DL Solo) and after speaking w/ tech support and downloading latest firmware, I realized I forgot to ask them if a standard 3.5 mm mic plug was the correct plug??

Thanks in advance for anyone's input.

The 3.5mm is the standard that microphones will have. that is the input you want to the Smartycam.
