Lol. Can't wait for this race. Tested the SPB there last week to make sure the new trans worked ok (it did). It was the first time I have driven the SPB there and it was a really fun track to drive it on. Had a blast until it rained.

Be great if 20 SPB's showed up.

You passed me as I was pussyfooting around in my street Cayman S.. I was actually thinking of blocking you as I was embarrassed to let a girls's car drive by me...
That and the Glen are (IMO) the two best tracks in the northeast, period. Best one not too far south, Summit Point Main..

You and that other Boxster looked good out there!

Indeed. 1985 - 30yrs ago. You were there to see his first win? I'm impressed.

The avatar is a Nicholas Watts painting "First Among Equals". I have the full size version along with his Villeneuve painting "Ragged Edge" (see below). My two favorite drivers; they bookend nicely.

Senna narrates in this video:

F1 Estoril 1985 Portugal - YouTube
Yes, that was the year I went to Europe with friends in a leased Deux Cheveaux and followed the circus from city to city. Caught five races. When I saw the Estoril circuit during the free practice day I realized we'd come a long way to have lousy seats, so spent most of our meager funds on better ones. I learned to say 'tickets for sale' in five languages pretty quickly, trying to scalp the originals. A spanish car magazine had a photo of the race-day main stands on it's cover and I could see myself standing in the bleachers. One of those little treasures lost in all the short moves you make while single...

Back to OP topic: signed up for Thunderbolt but just one car, the D 911. My kid will drive the sprints and I will co-drive enduro. Gotta watch budget, repair bills from VIR...

Are there two enduros or will everyone be combined? if the former: Funded Driver Available for hi-speed group...

Edit: PS Nizer thanks for the video link. I now recall that another reason we upgraded tickets was the weather forecast: nice to be under the grandstand roof vs. wallowing in the mud. It was a very new and under-developed circuit and facilities were meager.

Last year there were two enduros, not sure what the schedule calls for this year though.
