Default Daytona Austin Dillon Crash

Yet another one into the catch fence. Pretty brutal, even by Daytona standards.

Dillon Crash

Yahoo article.

I didn't record it as it looked like it was rained out. Must have started very late. Lucky nobody got seriously hurt.

Looked pretty scary- especially how he decelerated so quickly! Amazed he could get out and walk around without even be woosie!! That Ferrari driver at RA also looked pretty relaxed considering!

I remember working a race (medical) MANY years ago just out of medical school at Blackhawk Farms when a FF flipped and landed in the sand upside down with the roll hoop imbedded in the ground. Figured we were walking up a possible fatality. Driver climbed out and was basically unhurt but could barely stand up he was shaking so much. Asked everyone for a cig!

Someone up there was looking out for him. If he nailed catch fence with rooftop vs underside- he would be toast. They should put those high density foam thingies up to 30 feet high. Those catch fences just tears cars to pieces. Mike

Haha! Personally I'd prefer a scotch but I'm sure my nicotinic receptors would be grateful for a hit...
