Default FS: 3.8 99' Lightweight 996 for $34k!...

This car has been a top competitor of mine for several years with POC. The owner recently made a great deal on a 2012 cup through my wrench and they're now selling this car reasonably actually damn cheaply. Brief description:

1999 super lightweight 996 w/Vision Motorsports (Dwain Dement) almost new 3.8 short stroke motor. That's a sleeved case w/3.4 heads & cams and maybe 4 hours on motor and clutch. Trans has a Guard's LSD and his 4.0 R&P. This car has a wide rear fenders to accommodate wide offset rims with 300 Yoko slicks (250's in the front). The car has a carbon roof, lightweight fiberglass doors, lightweight hood, CF canards, lightweight wiring harness, RLC custom mounted dash, Moton Clubsports, fire suppression system, quick release hub & steering wheel, fresh paint which hasn't seen the track. GT3 control arms & sways, monoballs, etc. The car was just repainted and comes with 2 sets of rims ready to go racing, it needs nothing. First time offered for sale, it's too cheap but Dan needs the shop space and wants it moved. Hell the motor alone is worth more than half the price...

Wow, helluva car for the money. I wonder what PCA class it would slot into. GT-something?

Probably GT2 or GT3 with ballast. I run GT3 with a 3.8 - car is about 50-60 lbs heavy. It's pretty stripped of any extra weight (other than driver), but doesn't have any of the light weight body parts.

There are GT3 and PCA Club Racing stickers on the car so I'm guessing GT3. I was wondering the same thing and that would be my guess.

It runs GT3 with PCA at a minimum weight of 2821. Since it's a stroked motor (3.4 bottom end sleeved), it may actually fill at only 3.7 liters w2hich would allow it to run at 2747 lbs. Someone would have to measure the volume....

If you know the bore and stroke, you don't need to measure...just calculate.
