First time at VIR
Thanks again to all who gave advice on the logistics of a VIR trackday. Just got home from yesterday's event there with HOD. My very first time at VIR, after having done this for the last few years at Lime Rock, the Glen, and NJMP.
HOD Southern States was a nice group to run with. Relaxed but organized and well-run. I ran in intermediate (B) since I'd never been to VIR before. Didn't want to hold up anyone in advanced. I took an instructor along for the first session for advice on the line. He was very helpful. I also spent a lot of iRacing seat time practicing VIR prior to the trip, which was very helpful as well.
The car did well, and the Pilot Sport Cup 2s were great. The climbing esses were pretty nerve wracking at first, but I started to feel a nice rhythm by the end of the day.
