The trailer was locked all around, they cut the padlocks,on both tongue and door. Looks like they were going for the trailer, however when disconnecting the lights , removed power to the jack and winch. I suspect the idea was to quick tug the tongue away from the truck and go. Without being able to tow the trailer, next was cut the winch cable, unstrap and drive away. As daylight came, the only thing remaining was tire tracks, this sucks. Won my first race, in the rain with the car. sold to bro-inlaw who was heading to summit point for vintage race this weekend. Because we do not think like thieves, even if you saw a car being unloaded, or a trailer being tugged and swapped, your first thought is not going to be... a crime is being committed. See somebody throw a brick, drive through a fence, throw a punch, now that's violent, and you think crime. a car alarm only gets annoying after 15 minutes unless its at your house, and then you investigate. Most people , human nature, just shrug their shoulders and turn away, thieves know this. Only a cruiser doing a drive by, thwarts a crime in action.

They laid rubber going out of the parking lot? This sounds like a bunch of idiots that wanted to get caught. Hopefully they realize they can't really unload this car and you find it unmolested in a parking lot somewhere.

how much fuel was in the car? Unless they brought their own, they might have stopped for gas (hence video). Check the service stations within 20 miles and post your reward flyer, 7-11, etc.
I'd compile a list of flatbed towers in the area too, the brazen nature of this tells me they've been onto you and probably ditched it somewhere to retrieve later.
Is there video from the hotel parking lot?
I guess I don't have to tell you might want to consider GPS tracker for your hauler now. Inexpensive devices like PocketFinder (hidden in the car when you are away from it) can be had for $100.
They're even on kids watches like the LG GizmoPal ($80 Verizon) which I've tested and work amazingly well from any smartphone.

Sorry to hear, I worry every time I park my open trailer in a motel lot. I travel a lot on business and it chaps me everytime I stay in an upscale national chain with signs posted in the lot " not responsible"....etc.! I stayed in FL last night at a $150 a night chain that could well afford security since they were completely booked but the " not responsible" signs were posted in the lot. Kinda invites the bad guys me thinks. We need to start holding the chains accountable!

Very sorry to hear of the loss. The cynic in me makes me wonder if there wasn't a local spotter that maybe tipped off the thieves. It doesn't seem likely that that it would be a crime of opportunity. More like the thieves were executing a plan.
I hope and pray that you are able to recover your beautiful car intact.
