Default Airbags on F150

Anyone have experience using after market suspension airbags?

Air Lift and Firestone seem to be the goto products.

Is remote control worth it?

Chief complaint with Air Lift remote control unit is the compressor isn't weatherproof. I don't really have a spot to put it inside. I guess I could have a box built.

I'm putting it on a 2104 F150. Said truck has Max Tow pkg good for 11,200 lbs and Max Payload good for 2310 lbs

I am towing a trailex enclosed with 2500 lb car and stuff for about 5500lb total and a truck camper that weighs 1405 dry. I don't really intend to load it up with water or anything for track weekends so it probably won't weigh much more when loaded for travel and I can always put stuff in the trailer to save payload vs tongue weight.

Man...It's my honest opinion that you're really pushing your luck here.

I installed some Airlift airbags on my 2010 F150,mainly because when i load up two cords of firewood in the bed ( supercab, regular bed ) it helps considerably ... but for towing only you won't really need them.

I tow a 20ft enclosed with generator, air compressor,EZup,two spare sets of wheels and a lot of tools and parts, six fuel jugs and other assorted junk ...and the tongue weight is around 600 lbs which doesn't affect the ride height of the truck.
I have a 3 inch lift kit as well on the truck due to the larger wheels i install during the Summer months ...

The idea is to use the hitch swaybars and a Sherline trailer tongue scale to adjust your load properly and you will be fine,no need for extra airbags, you'll have to hook up
the loaded trailer and see !

Cheers
Phil

You could theoretically just install the air bags, since they can be rigged to have a fitting and a tire valve, then fill with air like you would a tire to adjust. That said, a camper top is a high, heavy load on its own. Having it in that location is way worse than having that weight on the trailer, especially since you're likely also using a hitch extension.

Can't you just sleep in the trailer?
