I do have to admit, my student's bone stock 2011 M3 DCT was a hoot as well. Lots of giddy up, grip, and stop.

Phenomenal job at the two feet in and keeping it going straight to maximize the run out space. Speaking of run out space, it looks like he used 90-95% of it.
I know when driving it that day that I was very careful at brake application because I didn't want the car squirrely in that narrow chute. Makes me kind of glad my car topped out at about a 125 there too.

I think Ralph takes the cake for the best pucker video from last weekend in the wet. My stuff in the wet is more of a comedy of errors.
First time in a race car in the wet. Race car here means a car w/o a defroster. The session started out well enough, bagged a Corvette on the out lap in the last instructor group run on Friday and then didn't finish the lap:
The camera could see better than I could. By the time I got to T19 it was total whiteout. I drove in the pit using the open driver's window.
Saturday morning, I got a little smarter and installed a defogger:
I guess I need to go back and read those RL fog prevention threads.
Finally, I think one of the reasons it was so bad was that by Saturday afternoon I had two inches of water back in the spare tire well. What I didn't know until today, was I had a lot of water in the floor pan too. Check out the passenger side floorboard in this clip just before I catch the step out in T20:
Do they make bilge pumps for track cars?
As a side note I was using new NT-01s as wets and the performance was less than spectacular. A decent set of street tires would have done better.

Thanks to all the volunteers.
No personal records set, but that's -- I have to tell myself -- not the only requirement for fun! I enjoyed the lack of apex pyramids in many places. The esses were even straighter...
As a side-note, that marks my 5th consecutive event at COTA with rain...
