Cartek Power Distribution Module (PDM) now Available
I saw these at PRI and decided to import them. This is a fantastic little unit that will power up to 4 channels at 10 amps each. There is built in over-current protection (read fused) and short circuit protection. The LED lights will indicate if there is a fault and what kind of fault there is.
I also had some custom 2 switch panels made. The switches have a light to indicate when they are on. If you are using this with an data logger, this is a great way to use 2 channels with the logger and then use the two remaining to power other things like a cool suit, ecu, etc.
My original plan was that these are perfect to use with the new AiM MXL2 and MXG data loggers and their digital output, but they will be great for adding any wiring to your car. Since the output from the dash can only drive 1 amp, this allows you to drive things like pumps, fans, coolers, etc. To make it better, you can wire two or more channels on the PDM together so the one dash output can switch on a pump, fan, and anything else you want.
These are true motorsport quality units. Pricing for the PDM including the input harness is $198.30. The two switch panel unit is $95.79. Email me at matt@trailbrake.net to order.

The units are really nice. Fully potted with an aluminum enclosure. This unit is at home in any vehicle and makes the wiring so much easier.
I just put together a blog post on how to program an MXL2/MXG to use this PDM. Check it out at http://www.trailbrake.net/featured-a...nd-mxg-control

I have used Carteks battery isolator and it is a great unit. It is a tough sell at $380.00 but it is the best. I am sure there PDM is just as good. Looks like a great way to add 4 switched power sources without the hassle of relays and fuses. They also sell a 16 channel PDM that looks really good.

Let me see if I understand this right. Since the MXL2/MXG has 2 digital outputs, you can really only have "criteria" to trigger things. For example- 1. High water temp causes radiator fan to turn on, 2. High transmission temp causes transmission pump and transmission fan to come on. Correct?
Might want to warn your customers that the digital outputs are on the optional 2nd harness of the MXL2/MXG that retails at $350.

I discuss the options with every product with my customers. You are right, the digital outputs go with the auxiliary harness. That harness is also where you find the additional speed inputs, analogue channels 5-8, and the second CAN input.

Not sure. Just trying to understand it.
Want to use the output now to set off a larger light but having a hard time getting it to work. I can get 12v out of the output wires but won't light the light. Tried putting it to a relay and still no dice.

The digital out is switching the ground. Send me an email and I can give you a document about how to wire things.

Thanks. That schematic is helpful. Unfortunately I still have the same issues. Does light the light. Doesn't even have enough juice to flip a relay. Appears the voltage output from digital 1 is as expected...but I need to do some more testing to confirm.

This is what makes the PDM so great. You put your supply positive to the M6 stud, your feed to the light (or whatever else) to the 1/4" spade, then the appropriate color wire from the supplied harness to the digital out and everything works. Then it's protected from over-current and short circuits.
