Try a few different brands and models. They all have slightly different cuts and fits. I am partial to three layer systems plus Nomex baselayer.

I personally have a Sparco suit from the stone ages for cars. For karts I use three or four different suits.

The new Sparcos fit quite well. I also like the Alpinestars. Haven't tried the OMP in ages, or Adidas.

I think John Ruther offers discounts to PCA members at Northstar Motorsports, might be worth looking into it.

I love my OMP Evo One. My wife also wears the same.
I bought both suits from Clark at Apex who gave me the best price both times!

Try on different brands which might require some driving to different stores.

Then you can find what members here recommend. I found that most members here respond to questions with places in their neighborhood; i.e. they forget to look at your posted location.

+1 for John Ruther and Northstar Motorsports. John's a longtime PCA member and racer and he'll give the straight story.

True, but shops like Northstar will have a good selection and good support, particularly if you wind up needing to order a suit...

Sparco Lucida is a good suit. So are the latest offerings from OMP, and Alpinestars and all have offerings in your price range. If you can drive up to Wine Country to try them on, do so. Nice folks, in your neck of the woods and they'll have a good selection. Each manufacturer seems to have their own definition of European sizing so if you are close enough to visit their showroom, that will be a good move.

Some good ones are as follows:
