Monticello Motor Club back on the PCA Club Race Calendar for 2015 (May 8-9)!!!
Just got confirmation that due to the tremendous success and positive racer feedback from this year's inaugural race at MMC earlier this month, that Reistentoter Region will be hosting another club race at Monticello Motor Club this coming Spring (2015)!
Dates will be May 8 - 9, 2015. That's a perfect filler for the gap between Lime Rock and Watkins Glen.
I can, without reservation, confirm that the track, facility, and setting are amazing. Extremely challenging track with a complement of high-speed butt-clenchers (the kink, kryptos) to technical, combined corners and dramatic elevation changes (flick-flack, patience, the carousel, mushroom). Great track for cups and momentum cars alike. I had an absolute blast earlier this month, and I'm really excited that we will get a chance to do it all again in the Spring.
On top of the great track, the MMC staff go above-and-beyond to make this event extremely unique compared to other PCA club races. MMC staff around every corning making sure everything is perfet (including hot cocoa service at your trailer), MMC instructors giving ride-alongs and track talks, and three opportunities every day for racers, volunteers and PCA national staff to gather together over food and beverages. I really dug the vibe at this event, which was definitely quite different from any club race I have attended in the past.
Thanks to Chris K for stepping up to be track chair, and Ari and the MMC management for agreeing to let us have access to their country club again.

Taking into account that this race falls on mother's day weekend, the sage planners have elected to make this a two-day event (a la lime rock). Practice on Friday and races on Saturday. You can still expect the over-the-top services, food, beverages, etc. that make this event truly unique on the PCA race schedule. Except now, you can get your race on, AND get home for mother's day brunch on Sunday.
This event will be limited to TWO RUN GROUPS!!! There will be no driver's ed group. Tons (actually, ridiculous amount) of track time for racers.
An optional test & tune will also be available on the preceding Thursday ( provided directly by MMC with separate registration).
More details will follow as they become available.

Will there be 2 races or 3 races on saturday?
Hope the test and tune wont be too pricy as 2 days is not a lot for us that come from canada
Monticello is a really nice track, everyone should come and try it out!

Planners are working on schedule options... details will follow shortly. Lot's of interesting out-of-the-box ideas being discussed. All I can say now, is that there will most likely be more racing, more track time, and more food/beverages per day than any other club race on the PCA calendar.

Unless you are racing a Winnebago, the kink is a non-event. My wife would much prefer that the race was Sat-Sun and not Fri-Sat so she wouldn't have to be home for the kids on Friday but oh well, it's going to be fun.
