Default headers

hello . i have a 997 race car , it is a koni-like car . the engine is a stock 3.8l and has stock headers . would race or sport headers allow or cause the engine to make more power . thank you

Yes. Definitely. That generation of car did not have a catalytic converter in it so it's not the same as removing a set of 997.2 or 987.2 OE headers but there are gains to be made. We offer a whole line of Cargraphic products. Customers have enjoyed their 997.1 products and since you don't have a cat to replace, you don't need a set of sport manifolds with 200 cell cats. A set of race manifolds should give you just under an additional 10hp and 10 lb/ft at the tires.

Which former GS car do you have? I probably know it well.

if you got well built koni car it should probably already have x51 headers on it, search it up.
x51 headers look different from stock triangle ones that create restrictions as air flows in them collide.
x51 headers are what you want to have, essentially.
