Default F1-Austin- who's going??

Leaving Wednesday night to get a little closer so Thursday isn't a LONG day since we want to get there for the pit walk...can't wait!!

Haven't been to an F1 race since the first one at Indy in 2000. Gotta wonder what they'll sound like in person...

My wife wrangled VIP access with McLaren via her SAP connections. It's my birthday present. Can't wait!

Jealous! I won four tix to this year's race at USGP 2013 in the simulators. Ended up racing in the finals against a couple other qualifiers and Alex Rossi (who I ended up beating.) I took second, Rossi took third. The winner of that race spent the day in the pits with Rossi and then watched with him in the Caterham box.... I should have pushed harder. LOL.

I'll be there also with the wife unit. T5. I went the first year and, after having to deal with crazy hotel prices, we're doing it a bit differently this time. COTA has a dry camping lot just outside of T5, so we're bringing the RV, which puts us near where our seats are located. No dealing with traffic into and out of COTA, and we're going to leave Monday morning so we avoid the mad rush after the race is over. Sounds great in theory but we'll see how it is in reality.

Sounds like a blast to me, have fun. I've got weds thru monday off this year, so I'm looking forward to getting to as many special events as possible.

I've just started getting my itinerary together... Looks like this so far:

Weds:
Red Bull Demo, 12pm
COTA Fan Forum, 6 PM
Screening of Rush at Alamo Drafthouse sponsored by COTA: 730 PM

Thurs:
Buxtons Big Time Bash

Fri:
Practice/Some afterparty

Sat:
Quali/Another afterparty

Sun:
Race/Yet another afterparty

My dad and I will be there as well. He's been to Silverstone but I'm an F1 virgin. Seats are at turn 15. If anyone has any hospitality connections, we'll pay top $$. Tried contacting McRae Aviation about potential heli transfers but haven't heard back from them.

Anybody want to join your friends in Turn 15 Top Level 3-day passes at a big discount? There were five couples going from the POC. One couple just cancelled.

PM if interested. I can meet you at the main ticket booth anytime Friday.
