Default Is there a better wheel bearing?

I replaced all the wheel bearings with OEM bearings in my street/DE 964 before last season as preventive maintenance.
At my last DE for the year a rear bearing started making noise. This is less than 30 hours of track time, and about 10,000 miles of highway.

Is there a better bearing, or is that a reasonable amount of time for a bearing to survive?

I am running R-compound tires, coilovers, 8 and 9.5" wheels, etc.

Thanks

BMW guys are getting better life out of the OEM bearings by partially disassembling and packing with CV2 before install.

Understand that the load on a rear wheel bearing on a 911 with track tires is way over the engineered spec. Others on this site will give good options, but you have to treat these as maintenance items. They will fail.

30 hours is a lot of track time. I replace my rear wheel bearing every year.

Bad rubber suspension bushings? I had the same issue in another car and was told to step up to solid bushings, which I did, and have not had an issue since.

Yup. I change mine annually. They are a consumable item for track use.

I had that issue on my 84 over and over. I finally took new bearings apart and cleaned then repacked with Mobil XHP and have not had failures since.

Where did you purchase the bearings from?

For my 944S2 and 968 and believe it's the same rear bearing in a 964, the 04 Box S rear bearing is a better design and cheaper. I switched to them, so far so good.
