Default No Problem Raceway in Louisiana

Any feedback on this track? Or on the Club Race that the Mardi Gras region hosts?

Thinking about traveling there for the November 22-23rd PCA race, weekend before Thanksgiving, then spending a few days in New Orleans and then head home for Thanksgiving.

Doesn't look like many cars went last year but it was the inagural event.

TIA

Haven't been, myself, but I'm told it's rather small & go-karty. Better for miatas, SRFs, etc than the bigger/faster cars.

But, I stress, this is strictly second-hand.

If I wasn't planning on running the SCCA 6-hour enduro at TWS that weekend, I'd come by & visit!

Greg,

Here is a description from our local PCA discussion board from last November:

"I visited No Problem Raceway with SWRA Kart club this past weekend in
Donadsonville, LA. It is the home of the Mardi Gras Region PCA. I
highly recommend to you to visit this facility if you have the
opportunity to participate with the Mardi Gras PCA. Nice new wide
track surface, long straights, good turns and paved pits.

Donadsonville has three very good restaurants and the Best Western is
only about a year old."

Here is a pic of the layout

Track is 1.8miles runs clockwise.

Here is a link to the track's website
No Problem Raceway

Looks like they use the long straight as a drag strip

1,900 / 500 / & 800 foot long straights. 14 Turns.

I have not been there, but it does not look like many high speed turns.

You could go to last years PCA results and check for avg speed on the best lap (or figure it from lap times in your class) to figure the overall speed.

NPR is 1.8 miles, fresh pavement, roughly 1-1.5 hours from New orleans or Baton Rouge. The long straight is the run off for the drag strip. The track is fairly wide, and almost bump free. Turn four is the slowest on the track, the others are medium to medium fast. November is a great time to visit New Orleans--the weather should be great and tourist crowds should be minimal. We hope to see you there. If I can answer any specific questions email me at pinoville@aol.com

Default No Problem Raceway

Hello all,

I can tell you that the asphalt at No Problem Raceway is some of the best around. The layout of the track flows very well and is a blast to drive. It does not have the raw speed through the turns as do many of the more famous tracks. But turn one will get your attention. We know that drawing the large number of racers strictly because of the track will probably never happen. That is why we put so much energy into making the entire experience more than memorable. EVERYONE who attended last year said that they would be back this year. We also had no incidents over the entire weekend. If there is one thing that you can count on, it will be that you have never been to a race party quite like the ones we put on. Yes, that means both friday and saturday. And I don't mean booze, I am talking some of the best food you have ever eaten. At a track or not. If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them. The descriptions of the track from other listers is pretty accurate. One important note, the road course comes on to the drag strip after the 1/4 mile. So, if it rains, it isn't like driving on ice. To give you an idea, one of the Kelly Moss 996s turned a lap of 1:12 and was into 5th gear on the main straight. That record for a production car still holds. I may be a little biased about our event but I guarantee, you will not leave dissappointed!

Brad and Will,
That is exactly the kind of response I wanted to hear. I understand that the track it self won't have the draw that a Sebring or Mid Ohio will but wanted to make sure it wasn't another Nelson Ledges or IRP that is so rough that it damages equipment, etc.
The top times at my home track (Putnam Park which is also 1.8 miles) for a GT3RS is in the 1:11 range, so NPR doesn't seem to be that much slower. Either way I will look forward to the registration info and look forward to a great event.

Greg
