Default HEY! Great news for the alaphabet cars...

...seems ya'll get to keep your passenger seats!!!

This PROVES that the PCA is a club which listens to its racer members.

So, there you are.

You just HAD to post this, didn't you? How about we resurrect the slider thread just for fun too?

Can you move a little closer so I can poke you in the eye with this stick??

Well you need to have a passenger seat so you and your passenger can drive to and from the track in your fully caged car...

Caught that.

I know one guy who drove to PCA races...and he quit two years ago. I wonder how many still do.

I drove my car to club races for several years, but the potholes were so bad, I had to put $10,000 reservoir shocks on the car to smooth out the ride!

Just make the dang passenger seat optional! So those who think it's helpful for egress can keep it... those who don't want it can finally remove it along with the at-a-minimum functional 3-point seat belt that must be present too. What's to lose for heaven's sake!? The passenger seat facilitates going from DE to Racing? If you do DE then decide to race, you need to rip everything out anyway to put in a cage. 4 bolts to take out a seat is hardly a participation hurdle!

I've driven to and from races for 18 years... but I still prefer the passenger seat removed for the extra storage space!

Actually I thought their droll explanation was kind of funny

On safety of removing the seat for speedier right side exit:
A cool suit box, or ballast collection, or fire bottle, or data recorders, or helmet blower motor or other things which could conveniently be put into the vacated space are not apt to be superior terrain to crawl over than a seat.

The whole explanation was odd. I had to re-read it because I could not tell if it said I could remove it, or not! Or maybe I was just so hopeful of a positive result (that our club listened)!

The High Poppalorum and the Low Poppahirum...

For years Le Mans "sports cars" had to have a passenger seat and room for two pieces of official luggage.

Who wouldn't pick a 917 for a leisurely weekend on the Cote d'Azure?
