Default How To Free My Stuck Clutch?

Looking for tips on how to free my clutch from the pressure plate? Car has set in my humid garage while I was doing summer projects. One was rebuilding the pedal cluster, so the disk and pressure plate have rested against each other. Seems they have rusted together.

Drive it in gear with the clutch in? Rock it back and forth? Anyone worked this one out?

TIA

Put the car in third or fourth gear, press in the clutch, put the brakes on, and try and start the car (for a second...or so).

If that doesn't work, yes, try driving it in gear with the clutch in. Use engine braking to decel.....

1st gear warm up the motor a bit and drop and pop the clutch.

OK. None of the above broke it loose. Tried on Saturday and a couple more times on Sunday.
Any other ideas? I don't want to take it a part if I can avoid it.

I've had this happen several times when I had my shop.

Drive the car in first gear with the clutch in and sharply accelerate/decelerate, punching the gas pedal at low speeds. Might take a few minutes of doing that, but it'll come loose... It works on Ferraris! Honest.

Peter, this is exactly what I did on Sat and Sun. Beginning to think they are welded.

RE: Cable. I will put the car back on the lift and check underside and then in cab operations. Again.

Maybe I should remove the floor board and push the pedal to the tub or until the clutch shaft bottoms out. ?????

Thanks, guys for the suggestions. Its got to break loose sooner or later. Right? Right?

Keep doing it, it'll come loose. Just depressing the clutch doesn't free the disc from the flywheel.

If you've confirmed that the clutch release mechanism is actually working (sounds like you have), it has to come loose eventually if you keep driving around with the clutch depressed in 1st doing as ProCoach suggested. Frustrating, I'm sure ...

Question if it is stuck together and you are trying to free it- does that mean u plan to reuse pressure plate/clutch? If so would there be any possible damage because it did get stucked? Another question- if in stuck position and u open up tranny- hard to take out because it's stuck together? Thanks. Mike

The fact that you removed/replaced the pedal cluster would give me pause, eventually "something" will break loose...
