Default summit point deer explosion

Has anyone noticed that the words "summit point" are always followed by something nasty happening?

I don't think this is an enzo.

Holy F@#k! I thought deer explosion might be a slight exaggerated but it wasn't. The line of deer crud guts on the following car was disgusted.

Tip: Never get out of your car on a live track unless your car is on fire.

Additional post: My 14 year old daughter said "what are you watching?" Now she doesn't want to talk to me.

Just saw a doe and fawn outside my office window today; cute when they are where they belong.
Not cute around cars at speed.

When is track management going to wise up? How many cars need to get wrecked and drivers hurt or worse. Done racing there and have taken SP off the 944 Cup schedule.

Here you have the same type of incident at the same track and at the same place on the track, just a different year!! Idiotic.

Things are a plague in the mid-atlantic. No natural predators, anti-hunting mentality, people who think it's cute to feed them, yadda, yadda, yadda.

I hit a deer a few miles out from LRP a few years back. The sun had just come up and I was on a back road doing about 35 mph in my truck with my car on a trailer. Two deer ran across the road so I instantly started to brake as hard as I could without losing it. I was going slightly downhill and the roads were damp. The third deer jumped out in front of my truck like he was trying to commit suicide. It waited until I was right there! Bounced off my quarter panel and cracked my bumper.

I pulled over and called CT state police to report it.

Popo: Are you OK?

Me: yes.

Popo: Is your vehicle drivable?

Me: yes.

Popo: Is the deer in the road?

Me: No.

Popo: ............so what exactly are you calling us for?

Me: Because you are supposed to report incidents like this to the police.

Popo: Ok, thanks.

that's pretty much how they treat it down here, the insurance companies aren't much more through, just asking where did you hit it and checking the area of the damage for tuffs of deer hair as confirmation

I'm with you. I am personally boycotting that track until they start addressing the animal problem and other safety issues there.

WOW. That was nasty.
I'm glad that guy was OK.
I've never driven SP but I associate it with rollovers and critters.

I get the frustration but how are they supposed to address it? Deer can clear a 12' fence like it's nothing. Guess they could chop down every tree so that you could at least see them coming.....

They could just truck in a few wolves.
But I guess then you'd have to dodge a wolf chasing lunch.

So, think of that accident in your open car. And no, hoping to go under the deer is not enough.
