2014 Grand Prix of Hungary

Plenty of action in today's qualifying due mainly to unreliability issues for the teams since it is always hot in Hungary at this time of year and because the circuit is a series of corners with minimal opportunities to build up enough speed to cool the cars. It could even be worse tomorrow with all the cars following each other in procession. If the Ham'sandwich can from the back of the field again and finish on the podium, this would go down as a major feat of feats. But it will be a lot hard this time around. Great opportunity for Rosberg to build on his WDC lead assuming he himself does not have reliability issues.
Expect the unexpected tomorrow?

Those Mercs have been sandbagging us! Vettel thought he had pole, and Nico blows him by half a second!
It'll be interesting to see what Hammy can do tomorrow. That's if "Crashtor" Maldonado doesn't collect him at the start!

The unexpected did happen. But it wasn't because of reliability issues. No the unexpected came from race strategies as the result of first safety car. The guys who were unable to pit right away lost out with track position to all those who were able to pit. But this made the race more exciting for us fans because Rosberg was clearly running away with the race up until that first safety car.
Great finish to this race. I think Hamilton had a chance to pass Alonso in the closing laps except Lewis had to divert his attention away from trying to pass the Spaniard in order to keep his hard charging teammate and WDC rival behind him. Also, congrats to Ricciardo. Red Bull made the right choice in bringing him on to the team and does anyone in F1 have a bigger smile than him? He looks like the Cheshire Cat when he smiles.

Best race of the year in my opinion. I would have loved to see Hammy make history and win a race from the pits but it wasn't to be. Looked possible for a minute.
Also looks like Red Bull and Ferrari are starting to get their acts together.
....now if we could just do something about the engine noise!

Riccardo did a great job. Alonso is performing CPR on a prancing horse. And Hamilton showed he is the class of the field in driving skill. Nico needs to be slapped around as he is acting very entitled. Demanding Lewis pull over when he is so far behind? Really? Lewis said he would move it challenged. Nico is reading his press clippings too closely. Niki has some 'splaning to do to Lewis.

Yup, Nico was very whiney indeed. Hammy drove a stellar race, as did Alonso. Ricciardo trumps his 4-time WDC teammate for the 8th time in 11 races (8-2 record V/S Vettel).
Things will heat up at MB, for sure. Now the long wait till Spa!
