Default ALWAYS use the best in safety gear

This was my very first race I. This new to me SM. The guy in the red car made a poor judgement on being clear of me and accidentally punted me.

The driver turned himself in to race control and has offered to help me with the cost of the car. He was near tears when we met in the paddock. Please try not to start the usual Rennlist cluster-fluck.

A big vote of confidence from me on miatacage's product. Their cage design is clearly effective.

Glad you made it through without harm.

What would that be in snowboarding terms? 450 with a flip?

Mike that was a wild ride. Did the net seem to be of value in keeping you and your body parts contained?
Hope to see you soon.

That was a 540 with a twist goofy style Matt.

The net definitely kept me in place. I'd like to have a Halo seat in my Miata, but it makes it so difficult to get out of the car for me that I chose to not use one. If we can engineer the seat mount so that egress is better I may put one in when we rebuild. I've already found a tub for next to nothing. We will be transferring as much as we can from this car. The good and headlights are ok at least.

you're at a choice point in your hobby right now, choose wisely......that was an amazingly gymnastic crash, you might have a higher calling.

glad you're ok

A good indicator to see you cussing up a storm upon touch down. Relieved it's just Mazda damage and not Globe damage, otter parts cost next to nothing so I hear. Tire wall did it's job, those trees get close FAST. Cue Spec Pinata jokes in 3,2,1...

He tapped you with a classic PIT maneuver--he must be a Texas State Trooper as his day job. Thankfully you're okay. Great endorsement for the cage.

Mike,

Good to meet you at HAllett although I'm sure you have had better weekends. That was quite a hit. Good luck with the rebuild!

Glad to hear its nothing money can't fix!

I suspect if that was armco instead of a tire wall (weaved rows), you would have stayed shiny side up.

I wonder if there is any proof tire walls like that are not very safe. -and really promote roll overs.
