Reg'd today for first solo DE- Edge Addicts at COTA end of the month...
I'm hoping they allow me to bring both the Miata and the 997, it's gonna take me a minute to get down the back straight... I'm not sure how many laps I'm gonna want to turn in the slower car. Can't wait!!!

In the E36 M3 there is enough time on the back straight to catch up on email, respond to that last text and take a quick nap between T11 and T12. Of course, there is the satisfaction to catching up to all that expensive iron in the turns. I've heard a lot of people complain about COTA for DE and lower powered cars, but I had a blast outbraking others at the end of the straights and harassing GT3s in the twisty bits. It's what you make of it.
T12 is a great place to work on later braking as there is a parking lot out behind it if you overdo it. Just don't lift in the parabolica, it's the way T18 eats cars.
Now if they could just come down a bit on the rental fees...

I wasn't going to go until Edge posted on facebook about a one day pass for $485... Working saturday so the two day wasn't an option. I feel like $485 is pretty reasonable for 5 sessions on a world class track.
It's refreshing to hear that the Miata is still fun at COTA- I'm really less than enthused about the idea of chewing up my nearly new P-Zeros at this point, but we will see how it goes. I really need two sets of wheels/tires to feel better about having that car on track.

A TWS two day HPDE is about $300 and if you go to one of the TWS PDS events, there is potential for 16 20 minute sessions for that price. The 1/2 day open track tomorrow is only a $100. So COTA is not cheap, but it's COTA and worth checking out.

Nice. Stop by and say hi when you see me with the Miata with the gold wheels. I'll be getting in touch for some coaching when I've got the cage and another Sparco with harnesses installed on the pass side. In light of recent events, I don't want anyone else in the car until I feel the instructor is as safe as I am.
