Track rental
Who here has organized a track event? Our club's DE for August just got canceled. I might want to take advantage of the availability to rent the track for an open lapping day. What go I need to do? Where do I get insurance for the event? How do I shelter myself from liability? Any help will be much appreciated!

Where are you located? A friend of mine used to organize DE events at VIR, Summit point and a few other tracks. If you are close I can put you in touch with him.

I've organized SEVERAL! Your best bet is to use the policy for an open track day that most tracks have in place, you will pay their premium, of course.
With an organization as big as NASA or PCA, they have their own policies to cover lawsuits and liability...which will basically litigate the hell out of any claim that's filed.
Your best bet would be to contact the track and see what they can do for you.
...and YES, where the HELL are you located??
For those people who don't have their profiles updated...let's get to it!! Put your car and where you live in there so we can come visit!!

Patrick do you realize that the local police are aggressively enforcing the 12:00 - 4:00 rule (that is intended for race events, not drivers education or 'lapping days') which may be why the event is now available?

Yes, I do very well know that. In any case, that day is no longer available at the track.
