Default Cayman Cup Car

This was built on a new 2012 Cayman R but I guess the best name for it should be a Cayman Cup Car we were going to call it a Cayman RSR but think some others are using that term.
It’s front end is straight from PMNA and is very nice quality carbon GT3R

Of course now the Holinger gear box had to be converted to run upside down and it’s filled with parts from Guard Transmission.

The motor is 3.8 liter Cup. The brakes are cup all the way around as is the complete font suspension and sub frame. As is the shifter
Will also have a 997.2 wing installed.

We did all this keeping the parameters of the stock chassis and not making it a tube frame car … This may be the only one built this way as

There are a couple videos to hear the motor run

I'm really excited about testing it in a couple weeks We will have a couple GT3 Cup cars with us so we should really be able to compare the data

So cool! I know what I'd do with a crashed cup that needed a new tub.

since you changed motors, why start with cayman R and not regular cayman or cayman s?

looks great!

OMG! Subscribed.

What an awesome project. I've heard of others starting similar ventures, but none completed, that I know of. This could be a great way to upgrade a base 987.1 tiptronic

Any rear suspension modifications?

Keep the pictures/videos coming.

Nice build. Just curious, any particular reason you didn't go with PDK?

The PDK will always be the "poor man's" sequential.

While we are very happy to see our stuff in their gearbox I'm also disappointed that we couldn't finish designing and manufacturing our Cayman sequential gearbox in time to get it in this car. Maybe on the next one.

What a lot of people are waiting for Porsche to build. It'll be interesting to see how it runs against 997 Cups.
