What's the stickiest? (255/17 and 315-17)
I'm thinking about a Hail Mary day for my old 911 at my home track -- letting go of my attachment to one-year tires and trying out something that would last a day. But I'm limited to my modest suspension settings and 9.5x11x17 wheels.
Hoosier A6s are my current thinking. But maybe there's a slick I don't know about that comes in those size. Maybe and BFG's R1-S would be quicker?
Maybe there's something else?

Seems to be a concept that the A6's don't last or aren't fit for track work but then you read about guys racing them on Corvettes. I used them on the track for short duration and found them good.
Don't know if you can get the soft compound AO50 Yokohama or Hankook Z221 R spec, but they're possibly as fast as anything out there and heat up very quickly...but you may not get more than 1-3 hot laps out of them for each heatcycle. Perhaps on your car Jack as it's light. Of course the other thing to consider is how much extra body roll you'll experience with substantially grippier tyres. Found that going from a medium compound R spec onto slicks created a ton more.
Only one way to find out!
