Hopefully nothing more than a concussion.

It is believed Schumacher was skiing off-piste in the resort of Meribel when the accident happened on Sunday morning. The seven-time world champion fell and hit his head on a rock, according to the resort director, Christophe Gernigon-Lecomte. However, Schumacher was wearing a helmet and his injuries are not thought to be serious.

"He has been taken to a hospital in Moutiers," Gernigon-Lecomte is quoted as telling Reuters.

"He fell around 11:00 am and hit a rock with his head. It seems that he has suffered a head trauma, but I would not say how serious it is. He was conscious but very agitated while being taken to hospital."

Gernigon-Lecomte was also quoted as telling RMC: "He was shocked, a little shaken but conscious. It may be a head injury but it is not very serious."

Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm told the Associated Press: "We ask for understanding that we cannot give running updates on his condition. He wore a helmet and was not alone."

Something tells me he's a pretty good skier. There's definitely irony at play when a guy can survive so many years driving F1 and then hit his head on a rock skiing.

Unless - major caveat - he has a significant intracranial bleed I suspect he'll be fine after the usual uncertain time period for concussion recovery.

Hard to interpret anything medically from the news reports today.

Going skiing today... with my helmet.

Latest is not good, they wouldn't be calling in the top guns for nothing

"One of the leading neurologists in Paris, Saillant was given a police escort to the hospital.

Early reports claimed the German had suffered "cranial trauma" while some even stated that it was "severe brain trauma."

His condition, though, is believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

For now, however, the world awaits a news from the hospital with a press conference set to take place later tonight."

Unhappy Schumi in critical condition.

Heard from a buddy that Schumi was on ski accident and is in critical condition (head trauma).

Here's one story I googled, it seems more positive than what I heard. The info I heard was that his life is in danger and has bleeding in brain (don't know the medical term in English)...

http://edition.cnn.com/2013/12/29/sp...f1-motorsport/

Let's hope he can recover.

EDIT: Just saw the other thread...

Hate seeing this kind of stuff, wish he was wearing out new snow helmet.
