I heard their assortment of cheeses is to die for.

Mike:

Is this through Riesentoter or through Zone 2? Either way, thanks for stepping up and being involved in this!

Happy Holidays!

No kidding. John is a great chef. Afternoon cookies are good for a half second unless you eat a few.

David,

This is an RTR event. RTR is bringing club racing back to the region.

Marty Kocse is the new track chair and he's busy putting the DE schedule together, so I'm helping get things rolling with the race.

Heads up to Rennlisters thinking of going to such a race at Monticello, provided there is such a race, on such a date : this location and time of year is a very popular destination for those tying the knot. Motels can book up quite early. Don't wait to get a room.

RTR- cool. My first PCA group I ran/Instructed with. God they have fast cars !!! They all use Dri -Wash as well. Gives them an extra second faster on track !!

Is RTR also bringing back Larry Herman?

Hold your horses on the gloom and doom, the full course is on tap. And its is some of smoothest race grade asphalt you'll find on the schedule.

As I understand, the Glen and Lime Rock have more narrow sections ( down to 31 feet wide) than Monticello, which is a FIA approved 38 feet wide for the entire track. I saw no concern with the track width. Contact is one of those occurences that will have less to do with track width as it will two drivers trying to occupy the same space with their cars.

At LRP, the short chute between Big Bend and the Left Hander narrows to 29 feet, and the approach to the uphill narrows down to 26 feet wide.

Interesting about LR, even more narrow then reported to me. And yet LR has been a popular event on the schedule for years despite track width and only 1 mile of asphalt.

Amazing that the track has continued to attract much larger cars than production Porsches on that track, such as ALMS. I think drivers will find Monticello to compare favorably to LR for the both the track, facilities, and location.
