Positive move by PCA although I am not much of a fan of the track due to a lack of flow (lots of "stops") imho. Maybe the changes will help that. At the very least its a short tow for us in the NE.
Yes, a parka will be necessary along with full tread rains.......

It promises to be a great event, and one that will hopefully become a fixture on the calendar.
The circuit changes that Jimbo outlines would all be in the right direction, the management is really on top of their business and know what's needed and how to get it done.
MMC is not a hard track to learn, and PCA gives enough track time that even Gary will be able to get up to speed. Provided he can keep it running, of course.
That was only one of many excuses I will be using in 2014...

Don't know the track
New engine acting up
Not used to these big Carrera brakes
That extra 77 lbs is really throwing me off
Sean is cheating

Not naming names like gums, but good news for the mechanically challenged, Monticello has a race shop on site that would be open and available for hire to PCA racers during the race weekend. Huge plus that many tracks do not offer.

I hear they installed a kitty litter dispenser that is linked right into all 944 Turbo ECUs'. Every time one passes it automatically shoots out 5 lbs..

Now there's a great idea. Why didn't you think of that Mike? Should be pretty easy. Can you make a call and arrange for a swap?

The karting track and bridge are under construction and will be ready for the start of the 2014 driving season. I don't know if the changes to the circuit will be done for next year's season or not, but the plans are in place and approved by local authorities AFAIK.

I'll come by and cheer you guys on. I was driving up there this past October 13th, and it was a beautiful sunny fall day - no parka required.

For reference, this is a lap around the full course in my '83 911 race car. I haven't had too much seat time in this car yet, my best lap around the full course is about 2'46" flat.

Mike A.

You always seem to be in the know. Are you involved with running the race there ?

In the old days when "Racing was dangerous and sex was safe" the Watkins Glen F-1 race was in October. Some years it was nice and some were wet but, the time was always a great one.

This proposed race at Monticello will be two weeks after the PCA race at Summit if the date is correct. Short tow for us.

Perfect.
