^2500 is a 3/4 ton
3500 is a 1 ton

Not much difference - an extra leaf in the rear leaf springs and I think wider tires as stock
700 lbs of gvwr difference I think

I think you can go to gmc website and side by side compare the specs

2500 vs 3500 actually. The latter is full-size truck. Ie. 3/4 versus 1-ton truck. Gives it a little more towing capacity I think.

You can simply go to a GMC site and do a comparison if you really want to know. Be sure not to compare a gas version to a diesel version, there is no comparison when towing..
