We went and saw it yesterday, finally, at a second hand theatre here in Arlington that has beer and such. GREAT movie. Very close to the facts, though the way the teams were portrayed was a bit weird. The guy that played Lauda was awesome. I LOVED the fact that they were able to get at least some period correct cars. My parents were at the Glen when Cevert was killed. I wonder how accurate that part was, as it showed "him" in the car, so to speak.
Surprisingly, Tiffani finally realizes why I like motor racing so much. Now she wants to sit in or eventually drive formula car. Maybe we can go to the indoor karting track this afternoon. She saw the footwork during the movie and expressed "now I understand how that works, it is like ballet or something." She wants to be on my "pit team" now.

Three Wheelin'
It appeared to be the combination of two accidents. The accident scene looked like that of the '74 crash of Helmut Konigg. He went under the guardrail. But the timing fit the Cevert crash (at least I thought they were portraying it in '73) plus the car appeared to be a Tyrrell. Secondly, Cevert landed upside down on the armco.
The guy who played Audetto (Ferrari team manager) was incorrect as well. Audetto was young (early 30's) and the actor cast to play him appeared much older.
Overall, those little details don't bother me. The girlfriend got dragged to two of the four showings I saw. We timed it a little poorly as well. We saw it first the night in theaters which was before my last race of the season. Not a good idea! I looked over during the Lauda accident scene and saw some tears starting to run down her cheek. Let's just say she was not excited to go to the race track the next morning.
