I've towed a client's car from Washington DC to Sebring, Watkins Glen, Mid Ohio, CMP, and many more places. his rig was a GTS 6 speed. no distributing hitch. open steel (heavy) trailer with all our tools, spares, and 4 extra wheels and tires. the race car was a 2009 Mitsu EVO (about 2900 lbs without driver). I'd say that our total load was probably around 6500 lbs. never had a problem with the GTS, even after 60k miles (lots of that towing). was still on the original clutch, too. I loved driving it (SOOOOO much nicer than driving my 2500HD!).

I tow a 20ft enclosed Featherlite (plus 4' v-nose) with car and gear I'm usually right around 6100lbs +/- 100. I use my 2013 Cayenne diesel with air suspension and it is fine. No load distributing hitch. It has a positive and stable feel and response on the road. Very happy with the rig to date.

Dan:
I have an F350 and a 24-foot ATC for sale. If you're too chicken sh-t to tow with your Cayenne, I'll let you buy them both back for the low, low price of $29,000.
