It's a no brainer that successful teams are run as a businesses and will go where the overall funding/support is better. FL ran a successful operation putting Porsche out front for quite some time.

Glad to see another manufacturer expanding in the GT ranks.

Let's be clear, AJR's effort to prep the Audi for Daytona was monumental as I was privy to a lot of the discussions. They pulled 18 hour days for 45 days to prep that car for the test and race..........and then Audi stepped in bigtime to help all the Audi teams, plus provided factory drivers. The Audi wasn't the fastest car last year, they just had the best overall lineup, strategy and a little bit of luck.
The 991 should be a very strong car...........I guess we will all have to see how the BOP plays out.

When did Paul Miller jump ship to Audi, guess I missed that one?

My bet is that Porsche is being very deliberate and careful in rolling out the new 991 RSR . They have to be successful with this one as the last few years have not been too good comparatively. Maybe they want a bit more control? Seth was never competitive even when the RSR was. Terrific guy I'm sure but a so-so racer. If it weren't for Joerg and Patrick FL would not have been done very well. He probably wanted to have a seat and maybe Porsche wanted a factory driver in his spot…Just speculating.

I know for a fact that Audi has committed an enormous amount of money and effort for a select few who are willing to commit to the 2014 Tudor Series. Factory support, parts, drivers and direct money. Porsche is not even within the spectrum unfortunately and at the end of the day it is all about marketing and branding. Audi may not have the best portal for on track success but they are going to give one heck of an effort.

The fact that they didn't break much helped alot too. I suppose that's where the luck came in. I would have thought that a team or two would have campaigned an R8 for the full Grand-Am season after their success at Daytona, but, there was only limited participation. With the Lizards on board we can expect to see them at every event in 2014.

I would guess that Dion von Moltke will partner Seth in some of the races next year. He drove the R8 for APR a few years back and drove for the Lizards this year. Dion's a sharp young guy and has a great career in front of him.
