Default Thunderhill 10/16/2003

Interested in inexpensive, safe track time? TEAM Racing is once again hosting a track day at Thunderhill on Thursday, October 16, 2003. Cost is $170 and includes lunch. Expect at least 6 20 minute sessions. About half Miatas as well as other roadsters and sports cars. Space is limited to 50-55 cars. Some instruction for novices will be available. Contact Bonni Weatherwax at bonni@weatherwax.net if interested.

sorry all, here is a link to the TEAM Racing web page.

http://home.onemain.com/~bonster/teamracing.html

Bonni Weatherwax is a Miata racer and a member of SAMOA and the Delta Miata Club. I posted the announcement in her behalf. The track day is fairly typical, but less expensive than most, as she is in this for the fun of it and not to make money. And yes, this event was hosted by SAMOA twice last year, but since Bonni took over the financial responsibility for the event the club decided against putting its name on it. That said, the event will be populated by Miatas from SAMOA, Delta, BAMA, and some folks always come down from Oregon and Washington. But as car enthusiasts we welcome all makes, as long as they are in track-worthy condition. We will run 3 groups (novice, intermediate and expert) based upon driver ability and experience, not horsepower. There will be no more than 20 cars in any group, and on a 3 mile long track it will seem like few indeed. Limited instruction (free of course) will be available for novice drivers who have not been on-track before. Cars must pass a self-administered tech inspection, and you must sign and bring along the tech form. If you go to the link above, you will find more info, as well as the opportunity to download the registration and tech forms in pdf format. I think that about covers it, if you want to discuss further, send me a private message when convenient. Oh yeah, the price includes lunch and water all day.

Ron
