Default $42,000 Indian donut

Sebastian Vettle won his fourth-consecutive F1 Driver Championship Sunday in India but was fined $42,000 for throwing his gloves into the stands and doing a post-race NASCAR-inspired donut.

Small price to pay for that moment in history. Only the 3rd time ever so I guess the team can pony up the 25k Euro. Probably less than the cost of a rotor.

The fact that it was a 1 hander makes it all the more impressive. Other hand kept waving to the crowd.

I thought it was a great way to give the fans a bit more for their ticket price. I'm not a Vettel fan, but I thought that was a pretty cool move.

The captions in this picture are funny, but Vettel knows much of his success is because of the team/car that supports him. Otherwise he never would have bowed down to pay homage to the car in the first place.

Ain't that the truth!! There were times I could barely see the cars, much less tell who was who.

What good do pollution controls in the USA and Europe do, when 3rd world countries make that much?

Ha! That was my first thought, too.

I hate that this was fined. C'mon, man. We need more celebratory donuts in F1.

+1

I'm not a big SV fan either but I liked his post race celebration/show of emotion...it proved he isn't a robot after all. What a lame move by the FIA to fine him.
