Economical Resource for Hoosiers?
I need sizes 275 35zr18 and 245 35zr18. Trying to race on a budget.
Not easy at all. But, finances are tight this year and I would really like to get in a couple of races before year end. Any help sourcing tires would be greatly appreciated!!

Do what I did, switch to Hankooks.
Tirerack price for the Hoosiers $1,448, for the Hankooks $942. On my car the kooks are equally as fast and last much longer. YMMV.

+1 for Hankooks.
Is this for the Boxster?

Are they really that good? Have you guys tried them back-to-back to check times? Yeah Dave, for the boxster. That thing is a pig, but fun to drive! Need to get some weight out of it. Rebuilt engine is strong.

Yes, they are that good, I even get more usable heat cycles out of them. Talk with Dave S. (Veloce Raptor) and do a search, lots of info on this forum. C51 is similar to R6s, I've not tired the C71s but hear they are similar to A6's.

As with Hoosiers, if you want the most heat cycles out of the hankooks, it is important to heat cycle them properly the first time (similar to hoosier heat cycling and letting rest for 24+ hours).

I've run them back to back as well.

Tire rack doesn't have the size we need (245/40/17) in the c51 compound in stock. Would the c71 be worth running on the front matched up with a c51 275/17 on a boxster?

The 245/40/17 is one of the sizes I need and they don't have it. They didn't have it early in the year either. Too bad. Price is 2/3 of HO HOs.
